I am a Postdoctoral Fellow with the Social Science Research Council and the NYU Public Safety Lab, working on the Policy ROI Project and the Prosecution Research Initiative. I received my PhD in Economics from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign in May 2022.
I am an applied microeconomist specializing in the economics of crime and public economics. My research examines how policies and the discretion and incentives of criminal justice agents shape the criminal justice system—its agents’ behavior, how it functions, and the outcomes for those it affects. I study topics including gun laws, marijuana legalization, prosecutorial discretion, judicial incentives, and police behavior.
